Hard rock, electronic experimentation and guttural screams! What sounds like the beginning of a sweet fairy tale is the new album “The Place After This One” by UNDEROATH and we are happy to announce its release today. While the band is currently on tour in the US supporting Papa Roach and Rise Against as part of the “Rise of the Roach” tour, they will also be playing a number of headline dates and some summer festivals there.
Back to the scene of the action: “The Place After This One”! On the occasion of their upcoming release, UNDEROATH have graced the covers of Alternative Press, New Noise Magazine, Revolver and Rock Sound in the past weeks! The pre-released radio single, “All The Love Is Gone”, has charted at #1 on Active Rock Radio and has moved up the charts faster than any other single in the band's career. Following the previously released “Generation No Surrender”, “Survivors Guilt” and “Teeth”, the radio single “All The Love Is Gone” is by all accounts one of UNDEROATH's most unusual songs to date. Singer Spencer Chamberlain explains that they wanted to make a drum and bass-driven song that is reminiscent of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers. The heaviness of UNDEROATH remains like a rock in the surf.
Incidentally, this applies to the entire 12-track long player. Guitarist Timothy McTague knows exactly why: “It's perhaps a blessing and a curse that no matter what song we do together, it will sound like UNDEROATH. No matter how far we stray from the beaten path, we always find UNDEROATH in the middle.” And since they wrote much of the record in a lonely cabin in the woods, we're glad they didn't stray too far off the beaten path. "The Place After This One" contains the diversity of each individual band member and they connect with it so deeply that none of them can stand still while listening. This record is a provocative and inspiring work of underdog art, enjoy listening!
