Awaken I Am Release New Single, "Vacant"

Awaken I Am is an Alternative Rock band from Australia fronted by producer Jimmy Alexander.

As their first US tour ended in March of 2018, tragedy struck the band on their home soil in Brisbane, Australia. On the morning of May 15, guitarist Connor Verner-Oakley’s 22-year-old life was cut short by the hands of an intentional reckless driver, whose unsuccessful attempt took the wrong life. 

Following the accident, the remaining members of AWAKEN I AM dived straight into the writing/recording process. Apart from two songs written before his passing, all the titles entirely focus as a tribute to Oakley. Some directed towards their fallen brother, others at the responsible party - those songs from those sessions proved to be both cathartic and inspiring. 

Continuing into their new reality and Australia's Covid lockdown, Awaken I Am pushed forward writing a new full-length album. The first single “Relic” punctuates an ever-maturing sound born out of tragedy and angst. 

Their highly anticipated upcoming album “The Only Way Out Is Through”  will be released June 27 produced by vocalist Jimmy Alexander (Rain City Drive). Awaken I Am’s previous single “Turn To Stone” was added into Octane rotation on February 7.
