Godsmack's European/UK tour recently kicked off without two longtime members, drummer Shannon Larkin and guitarist Tony Rombola. It was just revealed that they actually quit the band in late 2024, with their departures recently confirmed by the band. Vocalist Sully Erna and bassist Robbie Merrill are now joined by drummer Will Hunt and bassist Sam Bam Koltun for the current tour. Larkin explained the situation in a since-deleted Facebook video, stating: “We did quit the band last year after lots of talking to Sully and Robbie, and they understood that we didn’t want to tour anymore. In the end Godsmack’s out there touring and we are out here happily living our lives. It’s all love. We’re brothers for life with Sully and Robbie.” Godsmack issued their own statement which says, “After almost 3 incredible decades, two of our most cherished members have decided to retire from the band permanently, on good terms, but for no other reason than to fulfill their desire to live a more simple and quiet life away from touring.”

Linkin Park has shared a new song and music video, “Up From the Bottom,” part of the deluxe edition of their 2024 comeback album, From Zero, set for release on May 16th. The track is one of three new songs on the upcoming expanded edition, alongside “Let You Fade” and “Unshatter.” “‘Up From the Bottom’ was created in between tours this year, infused with the electricity of those first shows back after a long hiatus,” states the band. “’Let You Fade’ was a song that began during the From Zero sessions but found its final shape in sessions after the album’s release. ‘Unshatter’ was an early track we made while recording From Zero; Emily [Armstrong’s] huge vocal in the bridge was one of the moments that gave us an indication of what was possible together.” Linkin Park will kick off the North American leg of their From Zero World Tour on August 26 in Austin, Texas, before finishing up on September 24 in Seattle. Pre-orders for 2CD and 2LP sets of the deluxe edition of From Zero are available for pre-order on the band’s webstore.
